CCC celebrates its 55th Foundation Anniversary
CCC celebrated its 55th Foundation Anniversary last February 11-13 with a theme: "Celebrating 55 years of Commitment to Character and Excellence." The celebrations kicked off with a motorcade around the town of Cainta last February 8, 2015 which started and ended at the Cainta Municipal Grounds. Level Representatives from Grade School to College joined the motorcade with their respective floats with their muses and escorts. The CCC Alumni Batch representatives with their respective streamers and faculty and employees also joined the event. At the end of the motorcade, Mrs. Marilou Valencia, VP for Administration and Fr. Blaise Jose Ma. Garcia gave thanks to all who supported and help the event made possible. Muses and Escorts of each float were presented and followed by awarding of floats. The winners were the following:
- Champion - Gr.5 St. Gregory
- 1st Place - Toddler
- 3rd Place - Gr. 1 St. Joaquim
- 4th Place - Grade 3
The festivities started with the blessing of CCC Our Lady of Lourdes Garden and praying of the Holy Rosary. It was followed by a Eucharistic Celebration led by Msgr. Arnel Lagarejos, SThD. concelebrated with Fr. Neil Vincent Tacbas, OLLP Parish Priest, Fr. Blaise Jose Ma. Garcia, MMHC, School Chaplain, Fr. Aloysius Vime Ma. Moraga, MMHC, Asst. School Chaplain, Fr. Philip Ma. Dela Cruz, MMHC, Superior General of the Marian Missionaries of the Holy Cross (MMHC) and Fr. Ferdie Cornejo, the new Parochial Vicar of Our Lady of Light. After the mass, Msgr. Arnel formally opened the 55th Foundation celebrations. Mob Dance by the College students. Rides and booths were formally opened.
At 10:00pm, the championship of Cheerdance Competition was held at the Fr. Daniel Courtens Quadrangle where the 4th Year defended their crown. It was followed by the Recycled Fashion for Grade School and High School Category where they show off their different costumes made with recycled materials.
At 1:00pm, the 3rd CCC Research Colloquium was held at the CCC Auditorium. Three researches were presented: "Utilizing Exploratory Problem-Solving Techniques to Improve the Cognitive Learning Skills of Students in Science and Health" by May-Ann G. Oseo for the Grade School, Factors Affecting the Fourth Year Students in Studying Current Events A.Y. 2014-2015 by James Kevin R. La Torre for the High School and Self-Disclosure in the Context of Instructional Communication as an Integral Component of Teaching Effectiveness at Cainta Catholic College as Basis for an Action Plan by Engr. Romeo O. Ilao for the College Department. The research presented was evaluated and critiqued by following panel of experts: Dr. Wilma R. Lomangaya, Dr. Rosa F. Portillo and Dr. Maria C. Martinez.
Film Showing for the High School and College Department followed playing the movie "Tres", the first Sine Panitik film trilogy produced by the Film Academy of the Philippines which features adaptations of three classic Filipino short stories. At the end of the movie, Mr. Leo Martinez. At 5:00pm, Basketball Exhibition Games – Faculty vs. Non-Teaching Personnel was held at the CCC Gym where the Non-Teaching Personnel hailed as winner.
Second day of celebrations started with a morning praise led by CF Department. It was followed by the Campus Henyo and the Mathematics Quiz Bee, by the High School Department, Family Bible Challenge by the CF Department and IT Awarding by the Computer Education Department at the Fr. Daniel Courtens' Quadrangle and the Literary Musical by the Grade School Department at the CCC Auditorium. At 10:00pm, the College Department and Faculty and Employees show off their creation for the Recycled Fashion.
At 12:00pm, another film showing for the Grade School Department playing again the movie "Tres". At 3:00pm, the annual Employees' Day was held where Service Awardees who rendered 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years, Perfect attendance and this year's Fr. Daniel Courtens Model Employee Award where given awards and recognition. The day ended with the 3rd Academic Convocation. Once again, CCC gave recognition to Ten (10) outstanding Alumni and Cainteños who deserves to be awarded the Gawad Katotohanan, Gawad Katarungan, Gawad Pagmamahal and the highest award, the Regina Lucis Academic Excellence Award. The awardees include: Dr. Victoria C. Naval, Mr. Romarico S. Cruz and Mr. Precioso L. San Juan (posthumous) for the Gawad Katotohanan; Rev. Fr. Wilfredo T. Dulay, MJ, Dr. Yolanda C. Santos-Orlina, and Mr. Domingo J. Alfonso (posthumous) for the Gawad Katarungan and Dr. Milagros V. Cruz, Mr. Severino A. Pedro and Dr. Aladdin L. De Guzman for the Gawad Pagmamahal and this years' Regina Lucis Academic Excellence Awardee, Rev. Fr. Daniel Courtens (posthumous).
The third day of celebrations started again with a morning praise led by CF Department. Rides and booths were closed to give way for the preparations for the JS Prom which will be held later in the evening. At 9:00a.m, the Finals of the 2nd Voice of CCC was held where another set of CCC talents compete in 3 categories: the Grade School, High School and College and the Faculty and Employees. The third day ended with the much awaited event of the High School life, the JS Prom at the Fr. Daniel Courtens' Quadrangle. The Juniors and Seniors transformed into young ladies and gentlemen with their formal attires and dance in the traditional cotillion. The celebrations mark its end on the occasion of the Alumni Homecoming last February 21, 2015 with the theme: "Sama Sama sa Saya Isang Gabi ng Pista" and organized by CCC Alumni Batch 1990.
